Support is very important and is key to running your business in a hosted environment. All our systems are monitored 24/7 and we offer 24/7 emergency support for any system down critical events. Our support systems and help desks are hosted outside of our core datacentre so we can stay in contact at all times.

Our Infrastructure

We do not push highest consolidation ratios possible to increase profits. We pride ourselves with only selling dedicated memory. We don’t offer contented burst memory. We monitor our infrastructure constantly making sure we are providing the performance our customers require. VMhosts has been built by and run by technology focused people, with many years of experience building private and public cloud solutions.

Our DataCenter

We are proud to host all our physical hosts at BlueSquare’s Teir 3 Datacentre located in Maidenhead. We operate and are supported by Connections for London’s network C4L . The site has all core Tier 1 bandwidth providers available through the C4L network. The data centre is on a separate power grid from central London data centres, making it an excellent location for both primary applications and secondary sites for applications already hosted in London.

Our Network

VMhosts use a fast 10Gbps low latency infiniband network dedicated for storage and management networks. Physically separating these critical networks from internet facing traffic, protects our systems, and maintains performance and availability. We always use multiple uplinks to multiple switches to avoid single points of failure. Internal customer networks are protected using dedicated VLANS

Our internet connectivity is provided by C4L. We have redundant uplinks to C4L’s network with no single points of failure.

Our Hardware

All hosts are HP Proliant servers with at least 2.1GHZ 64bit CPU cores. Each host has redundant power and dual network connectivity allowing for failover and load balancing, all of which is transparent to the virtual machines and requires no end user configuration.

Storage is key to cloud infrastructures, that is why we use a true cloud storage technology. Our HP Lefthand storage platform provides true scalability with availability and performance, which is a requirement of successful cloud deployments. Disk level raid protection and synchronous network raid replication, provides real active/active performance and protection. Our Lefthand nodes use SAS disk spindles, which is required for random IO workloads which are hard to avoid in virtual environments.
